Dorothy Leone Fouch Grow, daughter of George Washington Fouch and Rena Belle Derry Fouch, was born may 19, 1913 in Greene County, IA and died December 11, 2005 at the Rowley Memorial Masonic Home in Perry, IA. at the age of 92 years, 6 months and 22 days.
Dorothy was raised in the Rippey area and attended Rippey High School graduating with the class of 1930. On December 10, 1933, Dorothy was united in marriage to Charles Darwin Grow at the Methodist Church Parsonage in Glidden, IA. by the Rev. Ernest Beuhler. They were the parents of two children: Fred and Connie. Dorothy stayed very busy as a homemaker. She loved quilting and handwork and was a member of the Rippey United Methodist Church.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Darwin; brothers Homer and Joe Fouch and sister Ruth Wiedman. She is survived by her son, Fred and wife Jacquie of Boone, her daughter, Connie Palmer and husband, Jerry, of Coon Rapids; six grandchildren, Richard Monthei of Panora, Mike Monthei and wife, Nancy of Minnetonka, MN. ; Tony Monthei and wife, Kathy of Panora; Michelle Roquet and husband, Rick , of Johnston, Dale Monthei and wife, Nancy, of Johnston and Steve Grow and wife, Liz of Iowa City; 17 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren, brother in law, Eldon “Pink” Grow and wife, Esther, of Perry and sister in law, Alice Grow of Perry, other relatives and many friends.
