Marilyn Gohn, age 82 of Rippey, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at the Rowley Masonic Community in Perry, Iowa. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Rippey United Methodist Church. Visitation was on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care in Perry. Burial will be at the Rippey Cemetery at Rippey, Iowa at a later date. Memorials will be given to P.A.W.S. in Jefferson or United Methodist Church’s and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Marilyn Rose Gohn was born on September 11, 1935 at Clifton Kansas to Armand E. and Lena Alice (Collette) Michaud. She attended Kindergarten in Polk City, Iowa, grades 1-4 at Riverside Country School near Polk City and grades 4-12 at Sheldahl Consolidated School at Sheldahl, Iowa, graduating with the class of 1953. She married Frank George Udorvich on September 10, 1955. Later, she married Paul Samuel Gohn on May 2, 1971.
Throughout her life Marilyn worked for various businesses. She worked for Look magazine in Des Moines, Iowa, was Ward Attendant 3 times at the Woodward State Hospital, sorted seed corn at Asgrow in Perry, sold night crawlers, cleaned houses in Perry for 10 years and worked at Xenia Rural Water at Bouton, Iowa for 4 years, retiring in 1995.
Marilyn was raised Catholic and was currently attending the Rippey United Methodist Church. She loved to dance, enjoyed on stage performances, fine arts programs and country music. Marilyn liked to travel, especially the trip to Hawaii in 1999 and going to Branson, Missouri. She enjoyed her flowers, pets, redecorating inside and out and loved pretty clothes.
In death she rejoins her husband Paul Samuel Gohn and parents, Armand and Lena Michaud.
Left to cherish Marilyn’s memory are her children, Gary Udorvich and his wife Anna Marie of Madrid, IA, Paul Udorvich, Tucson, AZ, Dennis Udorvich, Granger, IA, and Connie Ades and husband John of Rippey, IA, step children, Robert Gohn and wife Rene of Madrid, IA, Kathy Klatt of Perry, IA and Loretta Cerreti and her husband Tim of Granger, IA, grandchildren, Nicole Udorvich, Alexandria Udorvich, Natasä Honrine, Breanna Ades, Dylan Ades, Michael Udorvich, Rachel Udorvich and Luke Routson and wife Tanya, step grandchildren, Stacie, Jennifer, Eric, Jesse, Jeremy, Jason and Wendy, Jay and Lindsay, great grandchildren, Ethan, Jade and Alex and six step great grandchildren.
