Summer is winding down and school will be starting the end of this week.  Doesn’t seem like we had a summer, but I’m sure the kids are ready to get back to school and see more of their friends.

The reading contest for adults and youth is over.  Lloyd Smith won the adult contest.  There will be a book put in the library for him.  Kristany Schmidt won the youth contest.  I ordered a three book series that will have her name in it.

I need to thank several people who have donated books to the library.  Sometimes they just show up in the book drop and others have brought some in. Some were given as memorials for someone.
We also have magazines bought for the library.  All those gifts are appreciated. If you haven’t been in for awhile there are several new books.

Our new and refurbished computers and printer are in use.  A special thank you to the Greene County Foundation for the Grant that made it possible.  Also a thank you to Michael at Bits of Technology in Perry for getting them installed.

We will be having our August board of trustee meeting August 26th.  The new board members will be coming to their second meeting.  I’m sure they will be helpful and will start to understand the workings of the library.

I will be taking a PLM class in the next couple months.  One class is and all day meeting at the library in Johnston and the rest will be an online class from 9 -noon each Tuesday. I will probably do that at the library.

Looking forward to seeing the school bus around 4 PM each day at the library.

Come in and read some books!
