Last week, Toni and Phil Roberts enjoyed several visits from family and friends on Friday, September 20, Phil’s first cousin, Dick Roberts and wife Jackie from Oregon, visited prior to Dick’s class reunion in Perry that evening. They enjoyed chatting about their common ancestors that both had recently looked up on Ancestry.com. The next afternoon, their son Chris stopped by for several hours discussing the weather and crop outlook (of course) as well as upcoming family events. Toni is attempting to get the whole family together between Thanksgiving and Christmas which is turning out to be a daunting feat! On Sunday, Matt and his girlfriend Sara Morton, visited in the afternoon. Matt helps with keeping the mowing done and other outside work that Phil can no longer do.
On Wednesday, Toni accompanied her neighbor, Sharon Laub, to the Fall Style Show held at the Spring Valley Residence in Perry. They enjoyed the show and both came away with a door prize! The next day Toni accompanied her daughter, Lori Bardole, for an afternoon of shopping in Des Moines. They both enjoyed the nice weather on the drive and as good farm wives should, took note of the beginning harvest activity on the way. Little acts of kindness like rides in the country, cousins keeping in touch, neighbors having fun, and children helping out, makes this ole lady very happy!
