Carl graduated from Rippey High School in 1936. He worked for his father and for others on the farm. Carl had many exciting memories of his time, working for Ferguson-Diehl putting up power lines in Missouri.
Carl married Wanda O’Connell January 17, 1947. They were parents of three children, Stephen, Janis and Marcia. Carl farmed all his life in the Rippey area. He was a wonderful neighbor and active community member. His life revolved around his family and their interests. They were always involved with 4-H and livestock and Carl was always there to help. When Steve was busy with plowing competitions, Carl accompanied him on many trips, even abroad. His grandchildren’s activities were just as important to him and he was an avid supporter. Carl’s family remembers his wonderful stories and they have some of their own. Carl enjoyed fishing, land and ice, hunting in earlier days, and having coffee with his friends.
