Never did I ever think I would be an “assistant” homeschool teacher! Mom is working from home and three children are connected with their teachers, one with something called, “Zoom!” I am amazed and confounded how technology is helping keep the school children in school. Lucky for us, they all want to please their teachers, so homework isn’t a problem. Lacking the interaction of their friends and the extra activities school provides, is a real downside to all of this upheaval.
After homework is finished and lunch is eaten, a thirty minute quiet time is mandatory! (For me!) We have craft supplies, puzzles, Legos, and books. The park is within walking distance and there is a Sonic close by that only serves outside business anyway, so that’s a plus and an incentive for good behavior!
Like Nancy Hanaman said, “These are indeed, challenging and unprecedented times.” I, too, am glad to be where I am. It’s not boring!!
