The City of Rippey and the Friends of Rippey joined forces on Saturday, October 31, for a “Trunk-N-Treat” event around the community center. The sack lunches provided by the volunteers of the Friends of Rippey and the many people parked around the street provided treats for the many folks, young and old, who filled their containers. Maralynn Rinker and Jean Borgeson found their clown outfits and joined in the fun. With the laughter and groups of people visiting, the hour went by quickly. When you have very little leftovers and people were commenting what a good idea it was, to gather in one area and enjoy each other’s company for a brief hour, with the safety measures in place, you know the effort of the volunteers was appreciated. I know I enjoyed watching and visiting with friends I hadn’t seen for a while. I fixed 90 sacks of candy and only brought home 15. It was an entertaining and safe night and all were glad the weather cooperated!
