Request For Funds From Greene County Board Of Supervisors

Share

Good Afternoon all,This morning Mel Murken and I met with the Greene County Board of Supervisors. We had completed an application requesting $5000 to widen the warning safety track around the interior of the ball field.  Funds are available for brick and mortar projects up to $5000 because when the Louis Dreyfus plant came to Greene County this was a part of the tax abatement plan offered.
So….the application was reviewed and following questions and answers it was determined the Greene County secondary road crew will aid in removing the sod to widen the now safety track and will haul the crushed tile to the Rippey Ball Park, and the Board will provide $4,500 to pay for a portion of the tile.  $500 from a recent ball park donation from Marna Rittgers Parker will also aide in the purchase of the crushed tile for the safety tile.
Donations will be readily accepted for the remaining $200 worth of tile that will be spread on the field. $5700 total.
The secondary road crew, and the County Engineer Wade Weiss have been very helpful to Mel as they recently provided a load of special clay to build a warm up pitcher’s mound.
Grateful to Mel and Merle for all the work they have completed on the field, and to the Greene County Board of Supervisors.
The first game of 2021 to be played at the park on May 15, 2021.
LET’S PLAY BALL!!!
