June is winding down. It seems like summer goes faster after Memorial Day.
June 21st we had Jonathan the Magician come to the library. This program was funded by the Greene County Library Association and the Greene County Supervisors. He went to all the libraries last week and was very entertaining. There were around 30 people here, adults and lots of children! I hope they will be interested in the Summer Reading Program in July.
I have been ordering more books and several DVD’s. Come in and check them out.
My last day as librarian will be June 30th. By the time this is published, a retirement party on Monday June 28th between 4pm and 5pm will have passed, greeting friends and patrons.
I have enjoyed being here, but Covid put a damper on most things. Not having people come in as much as normal was sad. The support of the magician seemed to be quite lively, so maybe people are getting more comfortable coming in.
I want to thank the Rippey Library Trustees and the faithful patrons who support our library. It has been a joy. I am looking forward to being home more.
I wish the best to the new librarian and hope the community support will continue to grow. Our library is truly a special place in our small community. Thank you for the privilege of serving you.
