The meeting was called to order by Mayor Dan at 6:30 P.M. in the small community room. 11 persons were in attendance.

The treasurer’s report was given. Deposits since the July 11 meeting: $10.00 Vendor booth by Lilly Riley, $8.00 for shirt and mailing by John Rains, $500 deposited from Marilyn Johns.

The weekend baseball game was rained out, so there is no concession stand deposit.

Bills paid were $644 for reprinting the History Of Rippey, $32.00 for lime for ball field markings, $641.99 for water fountain and installation, but was paid by Barb Overman Yingling.

Sesquicentennial fund down to $8,475.00.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

A 20×40 tent at a cost of $440.00 was ordered to provide shade. It will be hoisted on the library lawn Friday evening. It will be removed on Sunday.

16 Vendors, 3 food trucks, in addition to the Cattlemen grilling, and the Methodist church providing lunch and homemade ice cream. Unknown number of cars for the car show, but several persons have expressed interest. The parade also has several entrants.

The Grand Junction ambulance is not available to be at Rippey on Saturday, July 13.

The baseball quilt has been completed by Fran Norgren Teagarden and raffle tickets were sold at the double-header baseball game today. The quilt is on display at the library and tickets may be purchased until 9:00 P.M. July 31st.

Baseball jerseys in Bulldogs(purple) and Hawks(green) have been given by TC&B for the baseball players along with baseball hats. They are available for sale at $49.99 with proceeds going to the Friends of Rippey.

Lyle will be trimming the bridal wreath hedge in front of the library, the large dumpster for Rippey city residents is already level full of trash, general cleanup is making the town look better.

Discussion about the availability of maps and events was discussed. Several large posters will be made and posted at the shuttle stop sites. The model airplane runway was reviewed regarding mowing and fencing. This will be done on Thursday evening July 29 at 6:30.

Kyle Kenan will assist Dan Acton in pulling the people mover (and perhaps other volunteers) the day of the event. The plan is to have the shuttle running on a continuous loop.

The shelter house has been power washed and will be repainted by Jontz Painting of Woodward.

Mary took orders for the reprint edition of “Rippey History”. This will be selling for $30.00 and include 5 post cards if not mailed. These will be sold at the registration headquarters located in the small library community room.

Mayor Dan will be interviewed by Coltrane Carlson, of Raccoon River Valley Radio on Tuesday. Ads have been purchased on the Perry, Jefferson, and Stuart radio stations.

Roy Bardole will be announcing the articles being removed from the Time Capsule, as he was the chair of the Centennial when they were placed 50 years ago. Sarah Killgore is creating a Rippey album to place into the new time capsule when it is re-buried.

The Library Board will be serving cinnamon rolls and water in the morning prior to the parade.

The Washington Winners will be serving iced beverages in the tent in the afternoon.

The Greene County Cattlemen’s Association will grill at the ballpark beginning at 3:00 and into the evening following the game and during the Churdan Town and County Band concert.

The next makeup ball game will be Thursday, July 22, at 7:30 P.M. John Munson and Cindy will be volunteer concession stand helpers. Along with Tina Miner who has been grilling brats and hot dogs.

The meeting on Sunday, July 25 at 6:30, we will discuss assignment of volunteers for parade line up, raffle tickets for meat magnets, staffing for BINGO, etc.
