I actually found this apron in the first drawer I opened! Velda DeMoss had a friend make three, one for herself, Dale Hanaman, and me, for the soup cook-off in 2007. Why I had the hat is anybody’s guess, but the chili peppers were the covers of small Christmas lights. A little Duck tape and fishing line decorated the hat. The little girls were fascinated and enjoyed wearing it! The event reminded me of the days when people gathered for a common event a Rippey group was hosting and there would be a little silliness included. It was nice to enjoy laughing and eating together.
