The Friends of Rippey fireworks fundraiser held on March 17, has been deemed a great success.
About 70 persons enjoyed Irish Stew created and cooked by Mayor and Chef Dan Brubaker. The Irish themed tables accommodated all who attended, and contributed almost $800 in a free will donation for the meal.
The evening fun began with the pie auction. 26 pies were donated by various individual bakers from Rippey and the surrounding area. Businesses from Jefferson and Perry also contributed pies. The pies were sold for a whopping $2200, with the highest bidder being Rolling Hills Bank, for the winning bid of the pie baked by Fran Teagarden of Grand Junction.
The evening continued with several persons staying at the Community Room for BINGO.
The Friends of Rippey very much appreciates the support for the fireworks fund.
