Billy Joe Fouch, Son of Dwight “Joe” Founch and Laura Belle Hobbs Fouch, was born July 28, 1940 in Jefferson, Iowa and died January 23, 2006 at the Dallas County Hospital in Perry, Iowa at the age of 65 years, 5 months and 25 days.
Bill, as he was well-known, grew up in Rippey and graduated from Rippey High School. On August 18, 1957 Bill was united in marrage to Sharie Kiner at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They were the parents of four children: Doug, Chris, Kevin and Jody. They made their home in Rippey where Bill worked at the Rippey Co-op. He then went to work for Oscar Mayer and then later for IBP. Bill loved sprots, especially baseball and basketball. He was a High School referee for basketball. He also announced Rippey and East Greene High School baseball games as well as for the Demons, a semi-pro baseball team which he also played on. He played on the Rage, a slow-pitch softball team. Bill was a member of the Lakeside Golf Course, and a former member of the Moose and Elks Lodges in Perry.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife Sharie, his son, Chris, and his parents. he is survived by his daughter Jody Halling and her husband Scott or Perry and their three children, Cody, Levi and Wyatt; his sons, Doug Fouch and his wife Jody of Grand Junction and their children, Dustin and Heidi and Kevin Fouch and his wife Shelly of Grand Junction and their children, Zach and Dylan; his brother, Dr. Jim Fouch and his wife, June of Boise, Idaho, Aunt Lillian Leatherby of Guthrie Center; special friends; Nancy and Martha; nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
Services were held Saturday, January 28, 2006 at Hastings Funeral Home in Perry, IA with words of comfort by Pastor Deb Parkison of the Rippey UMC. Interment will be at a later date at the Rippey Cemetery.
