From The Globe Free Press, Rippey News February 5, 1925 (copied as is)
An item worthy of mention was the closing of the Buckeye Coal Mine last Friday. This mine having been continuously in operation for the past twenty-six or seven years. It was owned and operated by Mike Feith. With the exception of the past year or two when he had leased it to George and Floyd Brown and John Anderson of Angus, that he might devote his time exclusively to the Riverside mine. The Buckeye yielded a good grade of coal and it is regretted that the vein has given out. The Keystone Mine, owned by the Free’s, is still in operation.
