Glenda Jurgensen age 72, of Guthrie Center, formerly of Rippey died on Monday, March 9, 2015 at The New Homestead in Guthrie Center. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2015 in the Rippey Cemetery. Memorials may be left at the Funeral Home or given to the family.
Glenda Jane Jurgensen was born on June 18, 1942 in Chicago, to Glenn Christian and Genevieve Jane (Vanlandingham) Jacobsen. She graduated from Perry High School in 1960. She was united in marriage to Bruce Jurgensen December 30, 1961 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Glenda worked for the Summerson Insurance Agency and Roberts Smiley Insurance Agency as a Secretary for many years.
Glenda enjoyed quilting, reading, working crossword puzzles, watching Hawkeye Basketball, bird watching and genealogy research. She travelled the Midwest while Bruce worked for Diebold and J.C. Penney.
Glenda was preceded in death by her husband Bruce Jurgensen and a brother, Duane Jacobsen in infancy.
Survivors include her daughter, Janelle Van Schuyver, Woodward, grandson, Christopher (Chelsey) Morrison, Panora, 2 granddaughters, Megan Van Schuyver, Story City, and Mackenzie Van Schuyver, Woodward, great granddaughter, Hailey Morrison, Granger, and sisters, Janice (Mel) Sheley, Guthrie Center and Gladys (John) Sheehy, Perry.
