Meanwhile, the Hanaman neighbor down south, (me) worked two days cleaning up my yard and some long neglected flower beds. I was unable to tend to the flowers last spring, as I was in AZ longer than expected. It will be interesting to see what comes up besides iris, cone flowers, lillys, hostas and phlox. I used the old fashioned way, fire, on three spaces. Long forgotten rocks and tree stumps will need to be removed so I can mow. It’s time to reduce the size of the beds. I could have used some good limb and stick picker uppers!! Every time the wind blows, the limbs and sticks loosened by the derecho end up on the ground. Bring your own spade if you want some perennials this spring. The change in the weather leads me back upstairs to the “stuff” that needs to head out the door!
