Kenneth Leland Kopaska, son of John Walter Kopaska and Nora Delpha Moorhead Kopaska was born at his parents farm home near Rippey, November 10, 1939 and died at his home July 12, 2007 in Des Moines at the age of 67 years , 8 months and 2 days.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hastings Funeral Home in Perry. Burial followed at Highland Township Cemetery in Bayard.
Kenny was raised on a farm southwest of Rippey and graduated in 1958 from Rippey Consolidated School. He was a Class Officer, In Class Play, Mixed Chorus, Annual Staff, Newspaper, Boys Glee Club and FFA..
Kenny married Mary Secress on March 20, 1959 and they were the parents of two daughters, Cindy and Laura. They were divorced in 1974.
Kenny lived in Rippey until 1974 working in the insurance claims business and other sales positions, which included Great Central Insurance Company, Portion Containers Larsen-Olson. Then he moved to Des Moines. Later, Kenny went to work for Tri State Toro, was part owner in Allied Radiant Barrier.
Kenny was married to Neva Martens in 1992 and divorced in 1993.
He started American Fair Credit Association in 1994, worked for US West and later sold for Mosaic. He was a salesman his whole life.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, John and Nora; brothers Alvin, Orlo, Virgil; infant sister, Doris and one brother-in-law, Keith Wilson.
He is survived by two daughters, Cindy Taylor of Urbandale and Laura Hansen and husband Jim of Harlan; three grandchildren, Colby and Cory Taylor, of Urbandale and LaJissa Hansen of Harlan; a brother, Jack Kopaska of Bayard; sisters Norma Thede of Glidden, and Norine Wilson of Ankeny; other relatives and friends.
