Marilyn Correy Friel Church, 81, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Taylor House Hospice.
Marilyn was born May 9, 1935 in Cooper, Iowa to Irwin and Ethel Correy. She had been a member of Christ the King Catholic Church since 1961. Marilyn enjoyed painting, sketching, reading and puzzles.
Marilyn is survived by her sons, Mark Friel, David (Kim) Church, Andrew (Stephanie) Church and Brian (Marcia) Church; daughter, Catherine Blaskovich; 16 grandchildren; siblings, Norma Schlarbaum, Mahlon Correy and Janice Correy; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Friel and James Church.
Visitation was held Monday, August 15, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Vigil Service at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 16th at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5711 SW 9th Street, followed by burial at Franklin Township Cemetery in Cooper, Iowa.
