Mary Beaman, Carris Family Funeral Home of Perry was entrusted with services for Mary Beaman, 75, of Perry, who died Saturday, July 30, 2005 at Iowa Methodist Medical Medical Center in Des Moines.
Mary Jane Beaman was born on December 7, 1929 at Rippey, Iowa to Ora Warren and Blanche (Pride) Stevens. She lived in Rippey until the age of 9 when her family moved to Perry. She attended school in Rippey and in Perry.
She married Ralph Beaman in Jefferson in 1970. She took a Certified Nurses Aid course in Boone and worked at various hospitals in the Perry area, retiring in 1998.
Mary attended the Baptist Church in Boone. She enjoyed cooking, decorating her home, collecting lamps and bowling.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lois Logan and Francis Stevens; and three brothers, Max Stevens, Jack Stevens and Robert Stevens.
She is survived by her four sons, John Thomas of Jefferson, Michael Thomas of Scranton, and Orville “Bill” Todd and David Todd of Perry; three daughters, Karen Godwin of Fort Collins, Col., Barbara Lincoln of Perry, and Linda Stagg of Bouton; two brothers, Walter Stevens of Grand Juncstion and Everett Stevens; two sisters, Bonnie Stevens of Council Bluffs, and Deanna Freeman of Sulfolk, Va., 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and seven step-great grandchildren.
Her funeral service was held Wednesday, August 3 at the funeral home, with burial in the Rippey Cemetery.
Memorials will be given to the family and may be left a the Carris Family Funeral Home.
