The long-awaited playground equipment for Osborn Park arrived on June 30th. Following assembly of the slide, Rippey Community persons and children assisted with the spreading of the rubberized safety pellets under and around the slide.
Several area children and visitor grandchildren from Arizona, enjoyed the first slide experience. They are pictured also.
The funding for the equipment was awarded to the City of Rippey by Grow Greene County. City Clerk, Mary Millard was the grant writer for this award with the Rippey City Council adding $10,000 as a match for the playground equipment request. The playground will include slides and a swing. The set for the older children will include a bridge, a tire swing, and a climbing ladder.
There will also be a handicap swing set with a bucket seat as well as a wheelchair swing.
