Rippey will be celebrating its 150th on June 27, 2020!
A planning committee composed of interested Rippey citizens will meet Sunday, May 19th in the Rippey Community Room at 2pm. Everyone is welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served.
We are certain for a parade, a car show, old fashioned games, baseball, bingo, band concert, raffles, display of historical items, and a fire fighter’s contest.
Fireworks are being pondered, but they are extremely costly, probably about $10,000 for a full display.
At this time a budget is being is being prepared and fundraising plans are beginning. The fireworks are currently a dream, but many of Rippey’s former citizens can recall Wes Rittgers lighting fireworks at the ball field every July 4th. It would be fun to re-visit that memory, but with a real display.
