The Rippey Consolidated School graduates and friends met at noon on Saturday, May 28, 2022 for their annual gathering in the fellowship hall of the Rippey United Methodist Church.
Jean Borgeson welcomed the guests and Dick Bardole led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance and the prayer before dinner was served to the alumni and guests.
A short, informal business meeting was held following the meal. After thanking the kitchen crew, Jean Borgeson read the names of nine known deaths since last May. She acknowledged the oldest graduate, LaVere Derry, of the class of 1948 and the “youngest” class member, Tom Contner, attending from the 1962 year class, who said a few words about attending school in Rippey.
The Memorial Day events at the various cemeteries around Rippey and an invitation to the lunch after the ceremony at the Rippey, were announced.
After a short discussion, the group voted to meet next year, Saturday, May 26, at noon.
The group adjourned to visit some more before returning to their homes.
