In addition to the Rippey Celebration on July 31, the families and extended families of Phil and Toni Roberts gathered for a Roberts Reunion at Hamlin Bell Apartments in Perry on August 1, 2021. The large group of 57 gathered in the apartment community room to great the relatives from out of state.
The families were able to visit with Phil and Toni their apartment in small groups of three or four.
Present were Phil’s sister, Claudette Fry from Santa Ana, CA Elaine Holz from Colorado Springs, CO, and Charlene Dorman, from Perry, and their Aunt Kathleen Linn of Rippey and her daughter, Rebecca Linn of Dana.
The group also included Claudette’s children, Celeste Hammel of Huntington Beach, CA, Brian Fry of Peoria, AZ, Duane Fry and his wife, Sandra, and their daughter, Cloe, of Altadena, CA, and Stephanie Fry and her fiancée, Chris O’Donnell of Orange, CA. The Fry family had also enjoyed a Fry reunion at the home of Rick and Mary (Fry) Liebich, during the Rippey festivities.
Of the Roberts family, 13 of the 14 grandchildren were present, as well as 16 of their 19 great-grandchildren. It was a special surprise to see granddaughter, Morgan Roberts with her fiancée, Steve Torreson of Graettinger, and children, Wes, Avery and four-month old twin daughters, Harper and Hadley. It was extra special, as we had never seen the three youngest ones!
The adults enjoyed visiting and taking pictures while the younger set was amazed at all the new cousins they had!
All this was made possible by the planning and hard work of our children and spouses, Chris and Brinda Roberts, Lori and Tim Bardole, Matt and Sara Roberts and Wendy and Tony Burkett, who supplied the eats and drinks, set up and clean up, as well as “crowd control” so Grandma Toni and Grandpa Phil could visit with everyone while sitting in their comfortable recliners in their cool apartment! What a blessing it was!
