Chelsi shared the agenda and started the meeting at 7:02pm. She asked for any changes to the agenda, seeing none proceeded to last month’s minutes. Minutes from the last meeting of August 18th were read and approved. Anita Rowe, treasurer, gave her report. The general FOR account at $18,213.35 and Website management at $1,356.43. Total amount altogether is $19,569.78. $940 from the beef raffle will be added to the account soon. The total after that will be $19,153.35 in the general account and $1,356.43 in the website account with $20,509.78. All together. The treasurer’s report was approved by all. Other bills and income from Rippey Fun day will come soon.
The trunk or treat event for October 26th was discussed. The Rippey Library will be having Randy Lebeck and his petting zoo and pumpkin painting available. The trunk or treat will be going on. A free will donation meal to offset Rippey Fun Day fireworks will be available. The menu will be pork loin, corn, fried apples, and sweet potatoes. Chelsi will get the paper products and any misc. Items. Chelsi and Shannon will ask for apples from Deals and pork loin from Fareway. The event will take place from 5pm-8pm.
Getting Venmo was discussed, once Chelsi and Anita have access to the bank account they will get that set up.
We are still working on an updated Logo for Friends of Rippey, slowly coming together. Suggestions were to fill in the letters, make corn yellow, and a different color for the background. Thank you Sarah Killgore for working on this for us.
The Golf Tournament has been postponed to April or May. The golf course has to get ready for the winter and this will give us more time to get everything together, prizes, raffles, silent auction etc. More information to come at later meetings.
Shannon made a motion to put Chelsi Lawrence and Anita Rowe on the Friends of Rippey bank account and take Dale Hanaman off the account. Brad Rowe seconded that motion. Motion carried. This is due to Dale and Nancy Hanaman handing over their officer roles to Chelsi Lawrence as president and Anita Rowe as treasurer.
Cara will work on the grant. The application for Grow Greene County and Greene County Community Foundation are open December 1st through February 15th. Rotary Club also has grants available starting the end of February. Cara will bring more information to the next meeting.
Donation of a large popcorn machine for events was donated to the Friends of Rippey by Anita’s mom. Maybe we could use this for a movie fundraiser.
Breakfast with Santa was discussed either December 7th or 14th were suggested as dates for that. Who would be Santa? Maybe Randy Lebeck would like to. More information at the next meeting.
Bring ideas for other fundraisers to the next meeting, as well.
The next meeting will be October 20th, 2024 at 7pm
