Marc Monthei, the son of Gail Monthei and the late Carolyn Monthei, and graduate of the East Greene class of 1984, used a day of service from his employer, Homesteader’s Life in Des Moines to help to spruce up the Rippey community.
Marc painted the streetlamp in front of the library an aluminum/silver color. Research needs to be completed on finding a replacement globe. With assistance from Mayor Dan, the flagpole was taken up and laid on sawhorses and Mark painted it white. Arrangements are being made to have the flags of the United States and Iowa flying in front of the library.
Marc wasn’t done.
He traveled to the cemetery to give the monument in the center drive and the old hand pump a fresh coat of white paint.
Marc purchased two gallons of paint to complete these projects.
Thank you Marc, for your service to the Rippey Community.
