Sininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson in charge of arrangements for a ceremony of life for Charles “Jorb” Norman Ure, 81, of Rippey. The ceremony will be announced at a later date.
Charles “Jorb” Norman Ure returned to God’s loving arms on Dec. 24, 2010. He was born on a farm near Bayard on Nov. 21, 1929, to Walter Clyde and Nessie Glenn (Wiggins) Ure. He was the youngest of seven children.
Charles and family moved to Cooper, where Charles attended Franklin Township School. He was drafted into the Korean War, where he served two years. After being honorably discharged, he moved back to Green County and became a bricklayer by trade.
Charles met and married Helen Juanita Krause on Sept. 14, 1954/ During their marriage, Charles and Helen raised four boys in Cooper and later in Rippey.
After working as a meat cutter for a time, Charles went into business for himself as a bricklayer. He retired around 2000.
Charles enjoyed fishing and hunting during his life, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Charles passed away in his sleep on Dec. 24, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Helen (Krause) Ure; his four sons, Mike and wife Anya, Jack, Clinton and his fiancee Kelly Clough, and Rick and wife Debi (Moore) Ure; grandchildren Heather and husband Anthony Geerdes, Benjamin, Christopher, Jonathan, Jake, Nicole, Nathan, Brandon, Amanda, Justin and Megan; one great-grandchild, Logan Geerdes; and his brother Eugene (Deke) and wife Maggie (Wrench) Ure.
