In spite of the weather, the violin and piano students of Janice Johnston held their recital on Thursday, December 15, 2022. The program consisted of old, familiar tunes as well as songs of the holiday season.
Pictured were the students who performed for an appreciative audience. The violinists concluded the program, playing, “Good King Wenceslas.”
A soup supper followed with the committee, Cara McCoy, Frank Nation, and Bobbi Dollinger, serving 29 out of the 31 attending.
Janice expressed her thanks to the parents, families, Friends of Rippey, Rippey City Council and community members who have supported these students, these many years.

Friends of Rippey Dedicates Gift of Carson’s Piano December 5, 2015
Friends of Rippey welcomed an appreciative crowd at their annual Calendar Day Breakfast that coincides with the calendar day appreciation held at the two banks each year. By the well-filled plates of breakfast casserole, fruit, and cinnamon rolls, it appeared everyone was enjoying the food and visiting with friends, some who hadn’t seen each other for a while. The room was decorated by our own Christmas Elf, Maralynn Rinker and added a festive feel to the morning.
A special happening during the morning for the Friends of Rippey was when they were honored to accept from Betty Lint, the personal piano of her late husband, Carson Griffith, for the Rippey Community Room. What a wonderful gift for the Rippey musicians!!
The dedication plaque reads:
