This bench was recently placed in front of the Rippey Library as a memorial for Charles and Doris Tipton by their children. Charlie died in 1983 and will be remembered as a teacher and coach in the Rippey School system. Doris passed away this past June at the age of 91. A Rippey resident for 65 years, she was active in the community working at the Rippey Co-op Paint and Appliance Center, serving as the Rippey librarian, and Rippey City Clerk. She also assisted in serving hot lunches at the Rippey Center of East Greene Schools. Many youngsters were provided home daycare services by Doris.
She was a member of the Amity club, bridge clubs, and the Rippey Methodist Church. She was an avid gardener and specialized in baked items that came from her kitchen. She will always be remembered by her children, Tim, Teresa, and David, and their descendants as a devoted wife, to Charles, a wonderful Mother, and Grandmother.
