Rippey has a new postmaster. Rhett Brown, a Greene County native, and a graduate of Jefferson-Scranton began working at the Rippey post office in late January. This followed an orientation and training period of about 6 weeks.
Rhett opens the post office every day except Sunday. The hours Monday-Friday are 11-3:00 P.M. and Saturday’s from 12:00-3:00.
He expresses that everyone in Rippey has been very kind and welcoming.
When not working, his hobbies include learning more about history and listening to classical music. As an education graduate, he is a certified teacher grades 5-12 in U.S. and World History, Social Studies.
His name tag says clerk, and Jefferson is considered the home office, and who he contacts for questions. “I am glad to have this job”, he states with a smile.
