May 14, 15, and 16

The attached photo shows the Walt Anderson Field baseball lights are working (THANKS TO MAYOR DAN BRUBAKER) and will be available for the 8:00 P.M. game to be played on Friday evening, May 14. Two games will occur, one at 6:00, one at 8:00. The rebirthed Rippey Demons are hosting the South Dakota Jackalopes, the Crystal Cubs, and the St. Michael Angels from Minnesota in a weekend tournament that concludes at noon on Sunday.

The rebirthed Rippey Demons have new uniforms, purple and gold colored, the same as the Rippey High School colors from many years ago.

Concessions are available in the form of pulled pork sandwiches courtesy of Kevin and Mary Hick, and the Friends of Rippey will have baseball type concessions including popcorn and unshelled peanuts. All profits will be used to further improve the Walt Anderson Field.

Mel Murken, Rippey Baseball commissioner, and his deputy Merle Jackson have spent numerous hours getting the field in great shape for the tournament, and in anticipation of the Old Timer’s Game July 31st, a part of the Rippey Sesquicentennial celebration.

Come and enjoy live outdoor baseball in Rippey this weekend.
